Sweet Basil is from the Labiate family related to mint which originated from India, it is a aromatic annual herb that grows to around 70cm. The colour is deeper if harvested later in autumn, and paler if harvested earlier. in France these are combined with ordinary tea to make an aromatic brew it is a perennial plant and can grow to around 80cm tall, it has narrow, pointed, deeply serrated leaves.
